The inconsistent built-in function naming gets my goat too. I have to look up strip_slashes every time. You didn't mention magic quotes! You're right- PHP is too easy to learn- it seems to have pretty much every function conceivable built in... is anyone else waiting for the buildme_aselfmoderatingforum() function in php 8? ;p
